Accelerating the Hickory schedule

In the third quarter of this year, operators Anadarko will see the installation of its Hickory and Tanzanite platforms. The engineering/design services for the project were carried out by Houstonbased Paragon Engineering, which designed the deck and topsides using 3D CADD PDMS software. The first installation scheduled is the Tanzanite platform, presently in fabrication at the Aker Gulf Marine yard in Ingleside, Texas. The platform will be on Eugene Island Block 346 in early August. The Hickory platform will then be loaded out, from Gulf Island Fabrication in Houma, Louisiana, destined for Grand Isle Block 116. The Hickory deck weighs 3500t while the Tanzanite deck weighs approximately 4000t. Both the Hickory and Tanzanite platforms are supported by four-legged jackets designed for 324ft and 315ft of water, respectively.
