Evolution of offshore legislation

The pursuit for new reserves is forcing operators to consider increasingly innovative strategies to exploit more marginal and deeper water opportunities. One of the most important challenges is the evolution of management systems and regulatory requirements to meet the changing nature of the offshore industry. While the fundamental and overall commitment to safety remains unchanged, the adoption of appropriate design methods based on risk assessment and measures to manage hazardous conditions are reviewed on a continuous basis.
