摘要

The elimination of long-lived radioactive nuclides which arise in materials through nuclear transmutations has been strongly demanded in nuclear fusion systems from the standpoint of waste management, environmen- tal safety and public acceptance. It is especially impor- tant for a prototype reactor and the beyond, owing to their much higher irradiation doses compared with an experimental reactor. Since such radioactivation occurs most extensively in structural materials used for first wall/blanket applications, great concern has been paid to suppressing the degree of activation in these materi- als.
