We show that the form of the optimal universal-NOT operation for a single qubit can be determined by considering quantum-limited state comparison. Similarly, optimal state comparison can be derived from the properties of the universal-NOT. This points to the possibility of a fundamental link between these processes.View full textDownload full textKeywordsquantum information, quantum operations, entanglementRelated var addthis_config = { ui_cobrand: "Taylor & Francis Online", services_compact: "citeulike, netvibes, twitter, technorati, delicious, linkedin, facebook, stumbleupon, digg, google, more", pubid: "ra-4dff56cd6bb1830b" }; Add to shortlist Link Permalink http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/09500340903045728
