INVERSE PROBLEM FOR A WEAKLY DEGENERATE PARABOLIC EQUATION IN A DOMAIN WITH FREE BOUNDARY

In a domain with free boundary, we consider an inverse problem of determining the time-dependent leading coefficient of a parabolic equation, which tends to zero as t → 0 like a certain given function. Conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a classical solution in the case of weak degeneration are established.
