摘要

In this work, we have successfully prepared rod-like lead tungstate (PbWO_4) nanostructures via sono-chemical route by utilizing lead (Ⅱ) acetate trihydrate and sodium tungstate dihydrate as starting materials in water as solvent without adding surfactant. The formation of as-produced nanostructures and their structure, shape and elemental composition were analyzed by means of several techniques including X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis, scanning electron microscopy, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. The magnetic properties of as-prepared lead tungstate nanostructures were also investigated with vibrating sample magnetometer. In addition, methyl orange was chosen as a dye water pollution to evaluate its degradation by as-synthesize lead tungstate under ultraviolet light irradiation. The photo-catalysis results reveal that the decolorization of 72 % for methyl orange occurred with PbWO_4 nanostructures in 70 min under ultraviolet light irradiation.
