Graded particle distribution in copper based composite reinforced with 7.5 vol.% graphite particles and aluminium based composite reinforced with 5.7 vol.% Ni coated graphite particles are obtained by centrifugal casting. The obtained macro- and microstructures are analysed. Numerical simulations are used to explain particle movement during solidification. It has been found that centrifugal casting can be successfully applied for production of cast parts with graded distribution of reinforcing phase.
