Phosphogypsum utilization: Part II: preparation of ammonium sulphate

摘要

The aim of this work was to describe the conversion of raw phosphogrpsum, issued from the man- ufacture of H_3PO_4 by dissolving the phosphate rock in H_2SO_4, into(NH_4)SO_4 and CaCO_3. The thermal analysis technique was used to estimate the yield of conversion.(NH_4)CO_3 or (NH_4)_2CO_3 with excess NH_4OH or(NH_4)_2CO_3 with NH_3 gas were used in the preparation of (NH_4)_2SO_4 from phosphogypsum.
