Farewell From the Outgoing Editorial Team, Welcome Incoming Team, and...Happy 40th Birthday, JOM!

I wonder if Dennis Ray, founding Editor of Journal of Management (JOM), knew just how timeless of a statement he was making in his editorial comments published in JOM's inaugural issue, or the tremendous growth and impact JOM would have in the proceeding 40 years. The same could be asked of Arthur Bedeian, when he moved the journal from a regional to a national stage. ... or Jerry Hunt, when he launched the Yearly Review of Management (later called the Annual Review, now called the Review Issue).... or David Van Fleet and Ricky Griffin, when they accepted two of the most highly cited papers the field of management has ever known (see Table 1).... or Micki Kacmar, who, in an Editor emeritus role and on behalf of the Southern Management Association (SMA), led the contract negotiation leading to our long-standing (and highly fruitful) relationship with SAGE Publications. ... or Russell Cropanzano and Talya Bauer, who brought JOM to a prominent, international stage and launched a period of rapid growth and increased impact. Table 2 lists all JOM past Editors, each of whom has made unique and long-lasting contributions to the history of JOM and the field of management at large.
