In this paper we study the quantum phase transitions in a three-dimensional antiferromagnetic J_1, - J_2 xy model for spin 1 with coupling between planes α = J'/(h), single ion anisotropy D and ring exchange interactions K > 0. We investigate the zero temperature phase diagram of the model using Schwinger's boson SU(3) method. We find an intermediate disordered magnetic phase, which separates the ordered phase at wave vector k = (π, π, π) (J_1, > >J_2) and the stripe antiferromagnetic phase (J_1, < <J_2) at wave vector k = (0, π, π). The ring exchange interaction K widens the disordered region in the phase diagram.
