Model for Preparing Optimal Contracts to Prevent or Reduce Claims in Projects

Because the emergence of claims has a significantly negative impact on the success of projects and interested parties' satisfaction, considerable attempt has been made to resolve such claims. While prevention has always been considered better than cure, no effective solution has been proposed in this regard and research has been mostly in the form of case studies. In order to develop a practical model to effectively reduce disagreements or prevent claims, the main reasons for the rise of claims in projects are identified using a library research method and document analysis technique. Then, by completing and combining related models, adding a communication actor as a contributory factor, and providing a bank of lessons learned from contractual knowledge, a new model is proposed that can be of help in preparing optimal contracts and thus effectively reducing or preventing claims in projects.
