It is with great honor and privilege that I take on the positionnof Executive Editor of the Journal of Leadership Studies andnthat I am given the chance to introduce this second volume.nSince taking the role of President of University of Phoenixnin 2006, I have had the opportunity to engage the academicncommunity and the public at large directly, demystifying whonwe are as an institution and lending insight into how we donwhat we do. Commonly, I find myself responding to a singlenline of questioning: How can the University balance its businessnarchitecture with core academic principles? To whichnI respond, perhaps frustratingly so, with one word: quality.nQuality is the universal standard to which all organizationsnmust adhere, regardless of their product, function, or purpose.nUniversity of Phoenix rarely labels decisions in termsnof what “aspect” of the organization they best serve—wensimply seek the path that enhances our ability to deliver anhigh quality educational experience to our faculty, learners,nand community.
