摘要

In this volume, Matthew Gutmann aims to bring greater attention to and encourage more studies on the sexual health of both men and women. Although based on fieldwork in Oaxaca, this is not so much an ethnography as a sociological overview that pulls in examples from the work of others from various places in Mexico and Latin America. Few men in Mexico are prepared to take responsibility for birth control. They generally dislike using condoms; as one put it, it's like eating candy with the paper still on.
