Gothenburg: political will behind congestion charging and measures to encourage the use of public transport

Doubling the use of public transport by 2025 is a major challenge for Vasttrafik. However, if current progress is maintained, the target wilt be reached as early as 2021. The current investments in public transport are larger than any before in the history of the Gothenburg region. Some 75-80% of the SEK34 billion (EUR 3.8 billion) in the West Sweden package (Vastsvenska paketet) is invested in public transport.
