摘要

It is our obligation to appreciate the nice piece of research work that was conducted by the authors of "Discharge Coefficient of Circular-Crested Weirs Based on a Combination of Flow around a Cylinder and Circulation." These types of weirs are frequently used for flow measurement and water level control, various types of which are considered by the authors and shown in Fig. 1 (Vo 1992; Chanson and Montes 1997; Schmocker et al. 2011; Shabanlou and Khorami 2013). The work is the combination of a flow around a circular cylinder with a free vortex as the major hydrodynamic component of the flow to determine the discharge coefficient and velocity distribution calibrated with some experimental data.
