ANNUAL SUMMARY OF TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES, 2008-2009

Professor Yeong Bin YANG, the previous chair of the IASS Technical Activities Committee, retired from this position because of major commitments as president of his university. It is my pleasure as new chair of the committee to thank him for his work with TAC over the previous years.rnThis annual report of the Technical Activities Committee summarizes aspects of the two reports submitted to the IASS Executive Council for its meeting in Valencia on 27 September 2009. A detailed report was firstly elaborated on basis of the individual reports of the twelve active Working Groups. A briefer report that synthesized key issues was the opportunity for a stimulating discussion at the EC meeting.
