It is predicted that China's future power demand will be about 10 trillion kWh, of which hydropower will be 2.5 trillion kWh, which will account for about 1/4. By the end of 2017, the total installed capacity of hydropower reached 340 million kilowatts, accounting for about 30% of the global installed capacity of hydropower. The annual power generation is about 1.2 trillion kWh, accounting for 70% of China's clean energy generation. In 2017, hydropower accounted for about 19% of the country's electricity generation.
