摘要

Discriminators are used in a variety of high energy physics experiments which often deal with a large number of detectors. These detectors give out analog signals depicting several parameters, like pulse height, width, time of arrival, pulse count rate, etc. Usually, fast discriminators are used to convert these signals, crossing a set threshold, to digital form. 8 channel leading edge fast discriminator module has been designed and developed with independent programmable threshold of range 0 V to -2.0 V. This module is developed on a CAMAC standard for programmability. The design aspects as well as the performance of a prototype module is discussed in this paper.
