Access Networks Evolution and Preparation for Implementation: EURESCOM Project 306

摘要

This article describes the achievements, from BTs perspective, of the EURESCOM (European Institute for Research and Strategic Studies in Telecommunications) Project 306—'Access Networks Evolution and Preparation for Implementation', which investigated fibre in the loop in non-green-field situations. The need for collaboration is explained and how the project has worked towards achieving common agreement on a broad range of access-network issues. The implications of this work on further collaboration are explored.
