Merging WLAN with GPRS Architecture -The Profitable Solution for Bandwidth Demanding Applications

Wireless LAN (WLAN) access technology provides broadband services with superior capacity compared to existing GSM and GPRS services in an indoor environment. This paper proposes an architecture that interconnects the WLAN radio access technology with core existing cellular network infrastructure, by using wireless ATM as a lower layer solution.
