The Future of Communications

I'm delighted to introduce this theme which presents five articles spread over two issues of The Journal and explores some of the issues that will impact on our industry. The articles have been produced by five researchers in BT Innovate, each of whom are experts in different fields.rnThe first article, Seeing the world through the web, is written by Robin Mannings, who is one of the world's experts in location and positioning, having recently authored a great book Ubiquitous Positioning. The emergence of geographical information and the use in applications and services is a major change in our environment taking place today. In his article Robin suggests that this will lead to a transformation of the existing World Wide Web, and this represents a large opportunity for businesses in our industry.
