TELECOMMUNICATIONS ON THE RING OF FIRE

The Pacific Ring of Fire has over 450 volcanoes and is responsible for around 90% of the World's earthquakes. Not surprisingly then, providing telecommunications in New Zealand's unique environment alongside its position on this Ring of Fire presents challenges. Here Chorus NZ's Rob Ruiter describes the remedial action and lessons learned following the 7.8 major earthquake that struck the South Island on 14 November, 2016.
