Direct manipulation of 2D shapes can facilitate animation production. We present a method to produce conformal deformations in a least-squares sense with length preservation. We suggest affine constraints defined on each vertex to represent its neighbors, and angle constraints to resist shearing of local frames. Moreover, we propose linear length constraints to maintain edge lengths in an iterative framework. These local constraints form a linear system that can be solved quickly. Experiments have shown that our approach can produce conformal deformations by manipulating a few handle points at an interactiverate.
