摘要

Based on large amounts of experiments and observations, we find that there exists a logarithmic relationship between the average collage error and the PSNR of the decoded image in fractal image coding. In order to make our research comprehensive, a selection of representative images are used and different range block sizes are adopted to compute the average collage errors and the PSNRs of the decoded image. Finally, a logarithmic curve is utilized to fit the relationship between them. Experiments show that for different sizes of range blocks and fast fractal image coding, the curve fitting result, can describe the changing regularity of the PSNR, of the decoded image relative to the average collage error well.
