摘要

The regional water supply system is adopted to supply water to a group of villages when safe dependable source of water is not available nearby villages. Transmission of water from distant source to various villages requires considerable expenditure. Further, when large number of village reservoirs (VRs) at different elevation are to be filled from one source, proper grouping and sub-grouping of the VRs becomes necessary for transmission of water through multi-level water transmission system. This reduces the energy charges and maintenance at later stages proves to be vital. Therefore, planning and design of water transmission system is very important to reduce cost and operational troubles. In this paper, a case study of planning and design of a multi-level water transmission system for supplying water to 101 villages from a single source is discussed.
