Epidemiological and Correlation Studies of Keezhapavoor block of Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu

An epidemiological survey was conducted in 21 Panchayts of Keezhapavoor block, Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu. The villagers and school children revealed the prevalence of dental and skeletalfluorosis. The samples were also chemically analyzed for their water quality parameters. The fluoride concentration in ground water of the villages varied from 0.25 mg/L to 4.03mg/L. A systematic calculation of correlation co-efficient among different physico-chemical parameters was performed. The high and low fluoride containing areas were located using isopleth mapping technique.
