PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS

Respected Dignitaries on Dais, Ladies and Gentlemen, my dear young colleague and student members, It is my proud privilege to welcome you on behalf of the Indian Water Works Association in 51 st Annual Convention held at Indore. I extend a very warm and hearty welcome to the distinguished guests and each of you present here. We are greatly honored by your gracious presence. It is an opportune time for us to discuss the burning issues on environment, water, waste water, drainage and solid waste management and to discuss innovations, measures and problems of mutual interest with delegates from different regions of the country and abroad. It is gratifying to note that the agenda of the convention covers a wide range of very interesting topics relating to the water sector infrastructure, its evaluation and development. Participation of business houses in large number indicates their eagerness to exhibit their innovations and technologies. I am pleased to inform that this year our membership of IWWA has increased tremendously. In our state many young engineers have joined our department recently and have come forward enthusiastically to join the convention. They have also played a key role in managing and providing the safe and potable water to the people last summer.
