摘要

For the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) is one of the widely used methods. However, generally conventional design method is used for STP. Using this conventional design method may not be economical for larger flow because it does not use a model-based approach for the design. In previous works it was found that focus was on the operational optimization, very few studies applied optimization of design of SBR plant parameters. In this paper an optimization model is developed for utilization of performance evaluation data and existing plant parameters using MATLAB Software. The developed model was applied to an existing wastewater treatment plant. The optimized model takes into consideration, the initial reactor volume, total reactor volume, time for the fill and react, MLSS concentration, F/M ratio, wasted sludge quantity with a capacity of 245 MLD. The results show a considerable improvement in the performance of the treatment plant.
