In this paper the authors have given a closed-form theoretical solution for the steady seepage below the flat horizontal impervious apron of a hydraulic structure with equal end cutoffs, with a step at the downstream end, founded on a pervious medium of finite depth. In an earlier paper by the authors (Jain and Reddi 2011) solution for seepage below flat aprons with equal end cutoffs under finite-depth conditions was given. The discusser has raised some serious issues in his discussion on that paper but those issues were not fully addressed by the authors in their closure (Choudhary 2013). Therefore, some of the issues are again raised here.
