The 16th Congress of Asia and Pacific Division of International Association of Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR) will be held during October 20 - 23, 2008 in Nanjing. Meanwhile the 3rd IAHR International Symposium on Hydraulic Structures will be held jointly. Hohai University will be the host under the guidance of Committees of IAHR-APD and IAHR-ISHS.rnWater resources have been the key to affect the existence and development of human society. So, the main theme of the Congress/Symposium is Water and Humanity - Friendship, Harmoniousness and Sustainable Development.
