摘要

The writers sincerely thank the discussers for the enlightening discussion of the original article on the nonequilibrium adaption parameter α for modeling mining-pit migration. The discussers evaluated three predictive formulas for α by comparing the computed results with measurements in two laboratorial experiments, i.e., trench (van Rijn 1980) and net entrainment (van Rijn 1981). Both experiments are suspended-load-dominated cases. The discussers purport the view that the formulations of Armanini and Di Silvio (1988) and Zhou and Lin (1995) are sufficiently accurate to simulate net entrainment experiments, whereas the authors' formula performs better in moving trench experiments. Additionally, the discussers provide valuable information by evaluating the necessity of using time- and space-dependent values of α.
