摘要

The doctrine of Pancha Yajnya (Five sacrifices) with the basic theme of some one's socio-ecological responsibility towards his source of knowledge (Rrushi Yajnya), for parents and ancestors (Pitru Yajnya) for environmental factors as Gods (Deva Yajnya), towards the biodiversity (Bhoota Yajnya) and for fellow human beings (Nrru Yajnya); in course of time has turned to a community activity and celebration instead of an individual commitment. The whole scenario is systematically celebrated through festivals of the rainy season in India as a welcome episode to rains and expression of gratitude to the environment, exhibiting through festive functions.
