Winners of HUD Secretary's Housing and Community Design Awards Announced

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recognized three affordable housing developments for excellence in residential housing design. The award winners are: 1. For excellence in affordable housing design: Drs. Julian and Raye Richardson Apartments (San Francisco, Calif.)-submitting architect, David Baker; 2. For creating community connections: Bud Clark Commons (Portland, Ore.)-submitting architect, Dave Otte; and 3. For community-informed design: Boston Public Library, Mattapan Branch (Boston, Mass.)-submitting architect, William L. Rawn.
