Nahro strongly believes that a sustained investment in affordable housing and community development programs is vital not only to short-term economic growth, but also to the long-term well being of our nation's neighborhoods and the families that call them home. Unfortunately, the federal government's commitment to these critical programs has weakened in a number of meaningful ways over the past few years.
