The Subject of income inequality has stimulated global debate. For the majority of people on the planet, income disparities are bigger today than they were a generation ago. It is estimated that more than two-thirds of the world's population lives in cities where income inequality increased since the 1980s. The gap between rich and poor widened not only in developing countries and emerging economies, but also in developed countries, and even in traditionally egalitarian nations.
