The Early Childhood (EC) program started in partnership with Success by 6's Strengthening Families, a local initiative that supports families with young children. The Lawrence Douglas County Housing Authority (LDCHA) surveyed families with children under five years old about the agency's resident services. The survey also incorporated questions from Strengthening Families' five protective factors, which include topics related to parents nurturing relationships, understanding childhood development, garnering social connections and assisting with mental health.
