Measuring Your Library's Value: How to do a Cost-Benefit Analysis for Your Public Library

Many organizations, including libraries, wish to show their value to their constituents in terms of provided benefit per dollar spent. According to the authors of Measuring Your Library's Value, a cost-benefit analysis could provide the means to this end. The making of this book began in 1994 as an attempt to assist the Strategic Directions Committee of the Urban Libraries Council in creating a cost-benefit analysis methodology. For the next decade, the authors honed their methodology as they worked with several medium and large sized libraries performing cost-benefit analyses.
