I have to say, I never imagined when I started the Hawksmoor pedigree herd in 1968, that I would achieve any recognition in this Breed Society, let alone be elected President - and I am truly honoured. It is an honour bestowed on me for simply doing something I love, trying to breed superior dairy cows and being a grass-roots member of Holstein UK. No-one could ever have predicted the world situation we find ourselves in with the 2020 pandemic. We had wonderful plans for the AGM Celebration in Shropshire but instead we had a 'virtual' meeting, which was the only thing possible under the circumstances. My wife Hilda and I have enjoyed many AGM events and as it was Shropshire's turn to reciprocate, I now appreciate the immense amount of work and planning which goes into them. At this point I want to thank outgoing President Bryan Thomas for his term of office and for putting on such a splendid spectacle in South Wales last year.
