One of the most extraordinary moments in the 2019 show-ring came when a UK-bred cow was crowned queen of all at the highly-prestigious Italian National Holstein Show. This occurred at the end of October in the historic city of Cremona, longtime venue for the longest-running Holstein event to be held outside North America. It was the 68th show in the series which started in 1951. Only two years earlier, a young David Maddocks began to establish his Wyndford prefix in the heart of Shropshire. And it was David's early selections from the famous Terling and Lavenham herds in Essex that proved instrumental in producing this latest member of Italy's bovine aristocracy.
