Stausberg's monograph engages the reader with the 'dynamic interaction between religion and tourism in the modern world' (frontispiece). This is a useful new text working from the perspective of religious studies, casually and causally emanating from the daily life of an academic living in Norway who, by his own admission, is driven by an interest in the behaviour of tourists on his doorstep.
