HM-241 Tank Standards ANPRM

On December 23, 2010 the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration published an advance notice of proposed rule making (ANPRM) in the Federal Register. The proposed rule, HM-241, would incorporate into the HMR, by reference, two national technical standards, the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), Section XII for the design, construction, and certification of cargo tank motor vehicles, cryogenic portable tanks and multi-unit-tank car tanks (ton tanks) and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors' National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) as it applies to those tanks.
