PHMSA PENALTY ORDERS

This issue's reporting period for penalties issued by the US D.O.T., Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration covers May and June 2019. Penalties in the form of Compromise Orders, Notices of Probable Violation, and Final Orders were issued to 81 companies. Violations of the HMR covered many areas of the hazardous materials regulations. As we have noted in the past, and one that appears to be a recurring issue, are those violations committed by failing to provide both initial and recurrent hazardous materials employee training, as well as failing to adhere to shipping paper requirements.
