摘要

The authors presented relevant results from an instrumented closed-ended steel pipe pile. The paper presents a complete analysis of shaft and base resistances from the static and dynamic tests and compared them with the estimates from the most advanced design methods available in the literature. It is not common to have a case with such complete and valuable measurements for an instrumented pile. The discussers performed some analyses with the published data and would like to comment on some relevant aspects of their results. When necessary, the discussers had to estimate some parameters not included in the original paper. Because the estimated variables were calculated from the plotted signals, the estimations are not accurate. The discussers would like to verify the estimated values with the actual ones.
