Nexans v Commission: Commission's Powers of Inspection-May Dawn Raids Continue in Brussels?

The Court of Justice of the EU, dismissing Nexans' appeal, held that the General Court was correct in ruling that, under reasonable circumstances, Article 20(2) (b) and (c) of Regulation No. 1/2003 allows the Commission to (ⅰ) make copies of documents before their examination; and (ⅱ) subsequently, examine such documents on its own premises. On 16 July 2020, the Court of Justice ruled on an appeal challenging the General Courts judgment of 12 July 2018 that upheld a 2014 Commission Decision fining Nexans France and its parent company, Nexans, for participating in a cartel in the (extra) high voltage underground and/or submarine power cables sector.
