For the development of new ceramic membranes for gas separative and catalytic membrane reactors, multilayer membranes were synthesized. These membrane configurations consist of three layers: a porous support (0·1 μm < pore size < 0·4 μm), a mesoporous γ-Al_2O_3 interlayer and a gas separative top layer. Different materials for the top layer are being considered. In this contribution, the characterization of the Membranes and the optimization of the manufatur- Ing route for the different material layers are dis- Cussed.
