THE USE OF INDUSTRIAL BY-PRODUCTS IN FOREST RECREATION ROAD CONSTRUCTION

In order to improve the existing forest roads by the use of industrial by-products, a research was held in forest roads of leisure in the regions of Nymfaia, Komotini, Polyarno lasmos and waterfalls of Leivaditi at which stabilisation with fly ash, marble dust and red mud has taken place. By this research, in which the Benkelman beam was used, it was realised that in these roads of low-volume traffic the bearing capacity increased up to 20%, the number of allowed passages of equivalent axes approximately up to 200%, while energy and natural resources saving was achieved.
