TESTING THE QUALITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL DATA BY AN INTERNET-BASED TOOL

This paper discusses procedures to reject outliers from data samples. Two types of data sets are analysed - multiple measurements of a single 1D normally distributed variable, and simultaneous measurement of dependent and independent variables. Original statistical procedures to reject outliers were proposed in earlier publications. This paper focuses on the software interpretation of these procedures. Initially, a set of MATLAB program functions is elaborated to interpret and verify the statistical procedures. They are then translated into PHP. An additional auxiliary toolbox is also created to support matrix calculus in PHP. At a final stage, an internet-based tool is proposed, allowing users to send electronically datasets and receive back the results from the analysis. Description and examples on how to use the tool are proposed.
