ZOOBENTHIC COMMUNITIES STRUCTURE IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE MARINE RESERVE 2 MAI - VAMA VECHE UNDER PRESENT ECOLOGICAL CONDITIONS

On the basis of 18 samples collected in 6 stations on three transects at 30 and 40 m depth, the author analysed the status of the benthic communities present there, which proved to be more stable than those in shallow waters. 14 major taxonomic groups with 55 different taxa were present. In term of abundances meiobenthos prevailed, and in term of biomass, molluscs (Mytilus). Among 11 euconstant species, 7 were polychaetes. General ecological status of the area can be characterised as satisfactory.
