RESEARCH ON AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY CHANGE AND ITS INFLUENCING FACTORS

Improving agricultural operation efficiency is the key to optimising agricultural resource allocation, to reducing non-point source pollution and developing high-quality agriculture. This paper uses Output Orientations VRS (The Variable Returns to Scale Model) index and Malmquist index to measure agriculture technical efficiency, comprehensive efficiency, and scale efficiency. The efficiency value as the dependent variable is used to analyse relevant factors that affect the efficiency change. The results show that agricultural technological progress is the main reason for the improvement of agricultural operation efficiency, and scale operation in some areas is inefficient. Among the influencing factors of efficiency, the use of pesticides, planting area, agricultural product processing bases, and total power of machinery negatively affect changes in efficiency; fertilisers have no significant impact on efficiency; agricultural industrialisation rates have a greater impact on efficiency, but the influences of leading enterprises on efficiency is small; the gross agricultural product value and agricultural film will significantly increase efficiency. Based on these results, the paper proposes to improve the efficiency of agricultural industrialisation operations and the driving power of leading enterprises, promote the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries, strengthen the construction of agricultural operation systems, providing a reference for implementing the rural revitalisation strategy.
