摘要

The research aim of this study is to examine the characteristic causes responsible for occupational accidents in Taiwan Environmental Protection Company. Although studies have examined cause-effect relationship of occupational accidents, few have examined management considerations of deploying and managing management service model. By categorising the occupational accident cases, including death and disability, among personnel from 1999 to 2008 in Taiwan Environmental Protection Company, there are six categories variables are analysed. It can thus be seen that TEP had already outsourced a part of high-risk work to the contractors. The research suggests that the workers should correctly use the Personal protective equipment (PPE) and observe the operating procedure when dealing with the high-risk work. In addition to the proposals mentioned above, it is necessary for the enterprises to raise investment on workers safety education and training. We infer major causes and potential hazards, and understand further about the characteristics of the accidents and the impediments of workplace accident reduction. The study suggests that the employees should follow safety rules, and regulations and precautions for the use of personal protective equipment; also, the enterprise should reinforce employee safety training, so these two-pronged approaches will effectively reduce the occurrence of occupational accidents.
